Sculptures in the park
Park grounds Haus Weitmar

In the course of the construction of gallery m, and the opening of the formerly private park grounds to the public in 1972, the gallery installed contemporary sculptures of Neue Konkrete Kunst in the park. Due to artist's donations, these sculptures are partly in possession of the association Situation Kunst.

Sculptures in Bochum

The townscape of Bochum features diverse scupltures of internationally established artists. The city is known for a long and sustainable engagement in terms of public art projects. Several works mirror the historical character of the Ruhr valley, for instance those of Richard Serra. Others draw on the concrete architecture and landscape around, most notably at the Ruhrunversität Bochum, where prominent artists such as Erich Reusch or François Morellet left their traces.

Apart from sculptures and architecture-integrated as well as site-specific art projects, the university maintains a great collection of antiques as well as famous contemporary artworks.
